Countryside Loves Rekha Rajan! Dr. Rajan enchanted our students by reading from her latest book, “Can You Dance Like a Peacock?” while also encouraging them to embark on a literary, musical, and movement journey with her! Her interactive presentation was both educational and entertaining. Thank you Rekha for a fabulous author visit!
Dr. Rajan came to Armstrong school and presented to our K-6th grade students. The primary students had so much fun with her interactive read aloud of her book, Can You Dance Like a Peacock? The gym was filled with laughter and excitement as they moved like the animals in the book. The intermediate students learned more about the writing process and becoming a published author. They were also able to explore her book, Amazing Landmarks and take a journey to some of these amazing places. Students at all grade levels were so engaged and left very inspired to write more!
The students were so engaged and couldn't stop talking about AMAZING LANDMARKS! This is one of the best author visits we have ever had. Dr. Rajan kept a room full of over 100 students excited and interested the entire time!
I love the energy Dr. Rajan brought to Decatur and to our dance studio. Everyone loved dancing like all the animals including the peacock, dung beetle and flamingos. Thank you Dr. Rajan!
Using chapters from AMAZING LANDMARKS (K-5) students will learn about how landmarks were built and be invited to choose how they would be part of a design team!
Using books from the THIS IS MUSIC series (0-5), or an interactive read-aloud of CAN YOU DANCE LIKE A PEACOCK (Prek-2), we will read aloud, dance like animals, and make music together!
Want to know how I get my ideas, brainstorm and write my books? We will talk about how it's different writing fiction and nonfiction and write a short story together!
