I have been doing this for 20 years, and Rekha’s presentation for the Disaster Squad series is by far one of the best author presentations I have ever seen. - Katy Herbold, Owner Sidekick Coffee and Books, Iowa city community school district
Dr. Rajan's genuine warmth and the way she connected with the students and families truly meant a lot. The whole school is reading Disaster Squad and it was amazing to meet her in person. This was the best author visit we have ever had! - Linda Lewis, School Librarian, Waddington elementary school
The students were so engaged and couldn't stop talking about the visit. This is one of the best author visits we have ever had. Dr. Rajan kept a room full of over 100 students excited and interested the entire time! – Stacy Hemmer, Patton elementary school
Countryside Loves Rekha Rajan! Dr. Rajan enchanted our students by reading from her latest book, “Can You Dance Like a Peacock?” while also encouraging them to embark on a literary, musical, and movement journey with her! Her interactive presentation was both educational and entertaining. Thank you, Rekha for a fabulous author visit! – Paige Green, School librarian, Countryside elementary School
Dr. Rajan came to Armstrong school and presented to our K-6th grade students. The primary students had so much fun with her interactive read aloud of her book, Can You Dance Like a Peacock? The gym was filled with laughter and excitement as they moved like the animals in the book. The intermediate students learned more about the writing process and becoming a published author. They were also able to explore her book, Amazing Landmarks and take a journey to some of these amazing places. Students at all grade levels were so engaged and left very inspired to write more! – Mary Holzman, Reading specialist and literacy coordinator, Armstrong elementary school
I love the energy Dr. Rajan brought to Decatur and to our dance studio. Everyone loved dancing like all the animals including the peacock, dung beetle and flamingos. Thank you Dr. Rajan! – Chelsea Branch, dance teacher, Decatur school

Using chapters from the bestselling DISASTER SQUAD series (K-3) students will learn about natural disasters, how to stay safe and how to help!

Using books from the THIS IS MUSIC and THIS IS DANCE series (0-5), or an interactive read-aloud of CAN YOU DANCE LIKE A PEACOCK (Prek-2) or THAT SWINGIN' SOUND, we will read aloud, dance, and make music together!

I love visiting schools in-person and through virtual visits!
Virtual author visits are available for any of my books.
